  • How do we get our purchased beef box?
When you check-out, there will be multiple options. We off pick-up or delivery. For delivery, you select a date and time, and our goals is to get you your beef box within 2-3 days. Free delivery up to 20 miles from the ranch. Further than that, up to 50 miles, we charge a delivery fee. Or, we have pick-up in 2 locations! You can pick-up at the ranch, 911 Steinke Rd. in Mart most days or The Ruby Salon on Austin Ave. in Waco on Tuesday and Thursdays For those of you that live further than 20 miles, you can minimize fees associated with delivery by encouraging your friends and family to place orders along with you so the overall delivery to area is larger, thus reducing overall cost to deliver! If you still have questions, please feel free to email, text or call!
  • Are you grass fed?
Yes, all our cattle at Travers Cattle Company are grass-fed. They spend their entire lives grazing and consuming grass as their primary source of nutrition. This commitment to a grass-fed diet reflects our dedication to providing a high-quality and natural product for our customers.
  • Are you certified grass fed?
No, Travers Cattle Company is not certified as grass-fed. The USDA does not have an official definition for grass-fed, and in 2016, the Agricultural Marketing Service, a branch of the USDA, announced that it would no longer provide an official definition for "grass-fed" due to its limitations in regulating and verifying the accuracy of such claims. This lack of certification does not change our commitment to providing high-quality, naturally raised beef products while being transparent about our practices and standards.
  • Are you home and/or ranch raised?
Travers Cattle Company practices both home-raised and pasture-raised methods for our cattle. Our animals are born and raised on our ranch, where they have access to our pastures for grazing. This allows them to freely roam in a comfortable and stress-free environment, ensuring they are treated humanely throughout their lives. Our commitment to both home and pasture-raised techniques reflects our dedication to providing high-quality, ethically produced beef products for our customers.
  • Are you natural?
Yes, Travers Cattle Company's beef is considered natural. Our products do not contain any artificial ingredients or added colors, and they are minimally processed to maintain their natural quality. We also do not use antibiotics or added hormones in the raising of our cattle. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our environmentally sound farming methods, which are based on scientific principles and generations of experience to ensure the health and well-being of our cattle and the land they graze on.
  • Are you organic?
Travers Cattle Company is not classified as organic due to our practice of replenishing essential nutrients like phosphorus, nitrogen, and potassium back into the soil to ensure the health and sustainability of our pastures. While organic farming prohibits the use of synthetic fertilizers and chemicals, our approach involves adding these necessary nutrients to maintain soil fertility and promote high-quality grass growth. Our commitment to sustainable farming practices and ensuring the long-term health of our land drives our decision to not pursue organic certification in order to prioritize soil and farm sustainability.
  • Do you practice sustainable farming?
Yes, Travers Cattle Company is dedicated to practicing sustainable farming methods. Our approach prioritizes techniques that benefit the environment and the local community, while also ensuring the long-term health and productivity of our land and animals. We implement pasture rotation to maintain soil fertility and maximize resources, including cutting and baling our own grass. Our commitment to sustainability reflects our belief in protecting and preserving the land for future generations, while also promoting the well-being of our livestock.
  • Is your meat inspected?
Yes, the beef produced by Travers Cattle Company undergoes inspection by the USDA before being processed in a USDA-approved facility. This ensures that our meat meets all necessary safety and quality standards, making it eligible for sale and distribution across the United States. By adhering to these rigorous inspection procedures, we guarantee the integrity and excellence of our products for our customers.
